Fluid Flow Visualization Lab
LabFlow

Activities
LabFlow conducts experimental studies on the behavior and flow patterns of Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids in different geometries, using techniques such as Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) and high-speed camera tracking. It investigates parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow rate, concentration, velocity fields, and derived properties, including vortex and turbulence analyses. The laboratory is capable of working with viscoplastic, viscoelastic, and shear-thinning fluids, offering extensive physical and statistical analysis capabilities of the flows.
Installations
The laboratory is equipped with two hydraulic loops, a flow restart bench, and a particle sedimentation bench, all custom-built. It features advanced instrumentation, including PIV systems, pressure sensors, flow meters, high-speed cameras, and software for image and data analysis. The infrastructure enables non-intrusive measurements and detailed analyses of velocity maps, streamlines, stresses, and vorticity.
